Seed Library

Made Possible by Hudson Valley Seed Company.

The Seed Library

After much work and research the Seed Library is finally here. Hudson Valley Seed Company located in Accord, NY has made our dream a possibility through the donation of seed packs this year. Hudson Valley Seed company is famous for their artful seed pack envelopes and quality heirloom and pollinator seeds.

It’s time to start thinking about your spring gardens. We have many seed packs to get you started with growing greens. We will add more seed packs over time. Seed packs are available while supplies last. Here is how the Seed Library works.

Taking Seeds from the Seed Library

  • Library patrons are entitled to take up to five seed packets.
  • Instructions for planting are included in the original seed packet divider. You may copy the instructions if needed.
  • Sign out your seeds on the sign out sheet. Just initial and enter quantity taken.

Kids love to dig in the dirt and gardening is a great family project to take on indoors or outdoors. Hudson Valley Seed Company’s blog has tons of information about planning your garden, whether it be a flower garden, pollinator garden or vegetable garden, the information can be obtained quick as a click on their website.

Our hope is that our patrons will continue the tradition of seed saving to maintain the seed library. While it’s not mandatory, we will take seeds that you have nurtured and saved from your garden when the season has past. We have many books on seed saving in the library collection to help get your started.

The seed library is located in the main library you can’t miss the colorful display!
