If It Bleeds by Stephen King
Media Types: , ,
From #1 New York Times bestselling author, legendary storyteller, and master of short fiction Stephen King comes an extraordinary collection of four new and compelling novellas—Mr. Harrigan's Phone, The Life of Chuck, Rat, and the title story If It Bleeds—each pulling readers into intriguing and frightening places.
A real page turner! I love reading Stephen King novellas. I wasn’t expecting to get sucked into King’s mind-bending stories in If it Bleeds. I had no idea what the title meant. It comes from an old media adage…If it bleeds, it reads. This still holds true for media today. So, off into the rabbit hole I went.Mr Harrigan’s Phone my favorite short story from the book. It would make a great Twilight Zone episode about a wealthy man who befriends a young man in small town. The relationship is a strange. The two men bond and become to depend on each other even after death. Let’s just say that taking your cell phone to the grave is not a good idea.I was pleasantly surprised by the addition of  a Holly Gibney story picking up where The Outsiders left off. If it Bleeds propels you into Holly’s crime-solving mindset when a terrible event occurs at a local school, but something doesn’t sit right with Holly. She keeps digging, but just can’t put her finger on what baffles her  until the pieces start to come together. Holly teams up with a former officer with unique abilities and helps her piece together a twisted turn of events.
