Smart Senior Program for Fraud Prevention: A Program You Can’t Afford to Miss

Elder fraud is on the rise.  “In 2021, more than 92,000 victims over the age of 60 reported losses of $1.7 billion to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). This represents a 74 percent increase in losses over losses reported in 2020 (Elder Fraud: If a Former FBI/CIA Director Can Be Targeted, so Can You, 2022).”  The Highland Public Library is offering a program on combating elder fraud on March 14th from 1pm-3pm in partnership with the NYS Attorney General’s office.
