Curbside Craft: Shark Bookmark

Fun Facts About Sharks:

  • Sharks live in every ocean on the planet and have been living in oceans for 450 million years
  • Sharks have the most powerful jaws
  • Sharks don’t have bones
  • Sharkskin feels similar to sandpaper
  • There are over 440 different species of sharks 

 

Supplies:

  • Paper different colors – depends on what color shark you would like-origami paper is preferred but is ok with construction paper or copy paper
  • Scissors
  • tape/glue
  • Googly eyes – this is optional

 

  1. Get a square-shaped paper
  2. Having the points of the paper point towards you- fold upwards-point to point
  3. Take the top corner of the paper (one piece only) and fold to the bottom
  4. Take a corner on the bottom and fold into the middle and do the same on the other side then unfold
  5. Take one of the corners again but this time bring to the top point and do the same on the other side
  6. Fold the two flaps into the pocket and turn it so the pocket is on top
  7. Now make the fins, teeth, and tongue
  8. Tape/glue on the top fin and side fins
  9. Tape/glue on tongue then teeth
  10. Stick on googly eyes or draw some
