What is it?
The Library of Things is a new collection of non-traditional library items available to patrons to check out with your library card. We are an institution that supports lifelong learning for all.
No matter what your interests are, you will discover something new for yourself or your family in the areas of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and everything from cooking and baking to crafts.
Check this list often to see what we have added to our library. You may check out an item for 3 weeks. All items must be picked up and dropped off at The Highland Public Library.
Please note that all computers and e-readers require a refundable $25 deposit. We accept cash and check. Credit and debit cards can not be used for deposits.
Library of Things Loan Procedure:
● You may check out a Thing for 3 weeks. All Things must be picked up and dropped off at The Highland Public
Library.
● Patron and Staff member will verify the Thing is in working order and all parts are present at time of check out.
● Patron will sign this Library of Things Agreement and Waiver.
● You must be 18 years old to borrow a Thing or have a parent/guardian sign for you
Library of Things Return Procedure:
● Patrons will return the Thing inside the Highland Public Library only.
● Please do not return any of our Things in the book drop outside of the Library.
● Upon return, a Staff member will verify that the Thing is in working order and all parts are present at time of return.
