Learn to Play American Mahjong

American Mahjong is a variation of the traditional Chinese game, played with 152 tiles and four players. The objective is to create sets of matching tiles, with special hands for extra points. It’s a great game for socializing and challenging your mind with strategy and calculation. Give it a try and you might just get hooked!

The Highland Public Library offers classes on learning how to play American Mahjong! If you’re interested in learning, checking out their schedule and sign up for a class. These sessions are very popular, so you may be put on the waiting list. There are also opportunities for library patrons to join Open Mahjong sessions to play with more experienced players.
