Art Adventures for Seniors 55+

Welcome to Art Adventures for Seniors, an exciting program for patrons 55 and over. This program promises to provide exciting new experiences for patrons who want to revisit an old past-time or experience something new.  We have created three new programs supporting the arts; ceramics, painting, and literary theatre. 

REGISTRATION OPENS 1 WEEK PRIOR TO THE EVENT. CHECK MASK REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO ATTENDING PROGRAMS. PROGRAMS BEGIN IN SEPTEMBER.

The following programs were made possible by an Outreach Grant provided by the Mid-Hudson Library System.

Ceramics

We will be holding multiple ceramics classes. Ceramics is for everyone! Bring a partner. You will learn about ceramics and glaze an item to take home or gift.

Watercolor Painting

Watercolor Artist, Ann Marie Kenny will instruct your how to paint a watercolor painting in this artist workshop.

Literary Theatre Laura F. Keys as Charlotte Brontë, the Stifled Writer
September 27th at 1pm

Meet Charlotte Brontë, the passionate authoress. Hear the story behind the written words, and learn how she, the middle child of six, survived to share their collected narratives. Visit with Charlotte in 1847, as she reflects on her emotionally-charged experiences as both student and teacher at various boarding schools. Share with her the joy of seeing her deeply personal novel, Jane Eyre, in published form.

Bio:
Laura Keyes graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in English
Literature, and from UW-Madison with a Master’s Degree in Library Studies. She is a Librarian in Central Illinois.

October 4th, 1pm

Join Charlotte again in early 1854, after she has experienced the death of each of her siblings, simultaneously with the rapturous acclaim of London literary society. Is this praise and respect all Charlotte ever wanted? ...Or does she still long for a passionate romance?
